Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil is a story of two friends Lalit and Balraj, and their promise that transcends to their children Prem and Heer. Now that Balraj is dead, Lalit thinks that Heer is dead aswell, unaware of the fact that she’s living in the same house.

Balraj’s younger brother Balwant and his wife Daljeet use Balrja’s death as an opportunity to marry their own daughter Ashlesha to Prem. But, Prem falls in love with Heer, unknown to the fact that he was always destined to be with her. Lalit doesn’t understand Prem’s love and throws him and Heer out of the house.

Now, Prem, Heer and Meher (Heer’s sister), live alone in poverty and pine for their family’s love. Heer blames herself for Prem’s pain and decides to re-unite Prem with his father Lalit, even if it comes at the cost of going away from Prem’s life forever.
