Synopsis:
Elaan, is a story about five people, on the hunt for the nation's most wanted criminal, Baba Sikander (Mithun Chakraborty). During one of his extortion rackets, Baba kills Kantilal Shah, a rich businessman and flees to Europe. Shah's adopted son Karan decides to avenge his murder by bringing Baba back to India.

He seeks the help of Arjun, (Arjun Rampal), an ex-police officer, Abhimanyu (John Abraham), who once worked for Baba and Sonia (Lara Dutta), Abhimanyu's girlfriend. In his quest for revenge Karan also comes across Priya (Amisha Patel), an ambitious reporter who is out to get the biggest story of her career and befriends Karan in the process, only to later fall in love with him.
