A STAR extravaganza at The National Mela!
Thousands of people came to the NEC in Birmingham to attend the National Mela presented by STAR UK. The event which took place from 18th to 20th November was a big success and was three times bigger than previous years. STAR News and STAR Plus were brought to life for visitors. There was a STAR News desk which enabled visitors to experience what is it like to be a news anchor. There was also a STAR photozone where visitors had their photos imaged next to a top Indian celebrity. STAR also gave away lots of STAR goodie bags and great prizes, attracting crowds of visitors to the stand.

Two of STAR Plus' famous women - Natassha (Anjali in Kavyanjali) and Sakshi Tanwar (Parvati in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii) flew in for the weekend. They entertained the crowds with interviews on the Main stage and fashion catwalk. Visitors were also given the chance to meet the two artists at the autograph stand. They both thoroughly enjoyed the event and loved meeting their UK fans.
Other artists at the event included the Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla. The Main Stage was hosted by Ameet Chana. He was busy entertaining the visitors and interviewing the amazing line-up of artists, from Juhi to Anjali and Parvati, through to the very best music artists from the UK, India and Pakistan. The main stage was lively with entertainment from stars including Sukhwinder Singh who made some Chaiya Chaiya magic, Faakhir presented his Pakistani talent, Bombay Vikings entertained the crowds with their classic remixes and Bombay Rockers rocked the stage with their Danish flavour.
